About Radio Alarm Clocks

Radio alarm clocks are the most pleasant and flexible way to be woken from your sleep. However, they are not all the same and many manufacturers are always looking for better ways for a radio alarm clock to function and look.

If you don’t already have a radio alarm clock, just think of all the things you’re missing out on… Football chat on talksport, the latest music on Radio 1 or some cheesy tunes on Virgin Classic Rock – any of these have to be better than an annoying ring or “beep beep beep…”

Most modern radio alarm clocks give you a few options of how you want to be awoken. If you really want a “beep beep beep”, most will have this as an option, you can then use the standard AM/FM radio, or some have a DAB digital radio, CD player or even an i-pod dock.

All radio alarm clocks have a “Snooze” button. This is most commonly set to be 9 minutes, but is adjustable on some radio alarm clocks, and on others it even decreases each time you press it – forcing you out of bed! Another feature of radio alarm clocks is the “Sleep” function. This is most commonly set to 60 minutes, although it can be altered, and the idea is, you can go to sleep with the radio on, and it will turn itself off when you have drifted off to sleep.
