December 7, 2008 by Our Radio Alarm Clock Correspondent · Leave a Comment
If you feel the need to know the time in your country as well as a few others all at the same time then the Sony ICFC273L Clock Radio is for you. With a triple time display you will know whether it is morning or night in Singapore and whether it is time for afternoon tea in New Delhi. Combined with the other features of this clock you will have all you need at your fingertips when you wake up in the morning, no matter where in the world morning happens to be.
The dual alarm function is handy for those who share a clock with another, or have different wake times on different days. The green backlit LCD screen is simple to read, while the silver casing is pleasing to the eye, yet doesn’t attract too much attention. At night you can adjust the brightness of the screen so the light from the clock fades to the background.
Choose to wake in the morning with FM radio from one of the 15 presets, buzzer or a melody alarm. A summer time adjustment means you will never need to set this clock, and an easy to reach sleep button keeps those few extra minutes of slumber close at hand. Package this with its affordable price and you will see why this is such a popular clock for those who like to keep track of time here, as well as elsewhere.
The Sony ICFC273L Clock Radio is a great addition to any night table, and will make sure you are always arriving on time.

For those bored of the boring old square-modeled CD clock radio combos will love the styling of the new Sony ICFCD855L CD Clock Radio. It manages to give you access to all the information you need with a decent-sized display, easy access buttons and a CD player all without compromising on Sony style or quality. Now you can replace your clunky alarm clock and oversized desktop stereo system all at once.
The FM/AM/LW digital tuner on this model ensures that all of your stations come in crystal clear, and with 20 available presets your favourite stations are just a button press away. Choose to wake up to radio or CD with this model, and you will find that the sound quality is excellent. A nice big snooze button on the front will let you easily negotiate a bit more sleep, and a daylight savings time button makes it a snap to change times in the spring and fall.
Get as much function as you can out of your bedside clock, with radio, cd and more. Added features on the Sony ICFCD855L include mega bass, extendable snooze, CD-R/RW playback and a headphones jack so you don’t annoy your spouse. A dual alarm means you don’t have to worry about changing times between days, and the white back-lit LCD display is easy to read any time of day or night. This is a great unit that encompasses everything you need in one stylish design, you will not need another clock or music player in your room again.

Sleek and black this clock looks fabulous in a bedroom or office, even your kitchen, anywhere you want to know the time as well as having a great on-demand speaker system for your iPod.
As a clock this unit offers a good size LCD display, and gives you the options of waking up to AM/FM Radio, alarm buzzer or your own playlist off your iPod. The sleek design has all the buttons located on top of the unit so the face of the clock and speakers are unobstructed.
For a music device, Sony has invested their standard of great quality sound. Whether you want to wake up to your own music or like to have the radio or tunes playing while you read at your bedside this clock has superior sound at an extremely reasonable price. Sony XDRC705DAB Clock Radio review

If you are looking for a great clock radio from a good brand then you’ll love the Sony XDRC705DAB Clock Radio. This clock has great sound and is extremely good-looking (in case you worry about that sort of thing). The big and bright display makes it easy to read, and there are settings to reduce the brightness so it doesn’t bother you at night. The ability to set 20 preset stations is quite handy and means that you’ll never have to spend time scrolling through the dial to find your station.
There is one small problem, that doesn’t seem to affect all models but has been reported a few times by different customers. It would appear that on a few models there is a glitch where the clock’s alarm goes off at midnight every few days. Again, it hasn’t affected all of the models, so if you like this clock you should definitely get it. Within a few days you will know if it is functioning correctly, and you can take it back if it’s faulty.
All in all the Sony XDRC705DAB Clock Radio is a great clock, with fabulous sound from the front-mounted speaker. The clock looks great in any bedroom with its sleek and understated styling. The multiple station presets and alarm settings come in very handy, and the big display means that you can read it easily, even in the middle of the night. This is a great clock and well worth the price tag it comes with.
Click here to buy the Sony XDRC705DAB Clock Radio from Amazon. The price is £59.99 at the time of writing.
Sony ICFC218S review - a great cheap alarm clock radio
October 1, 2008 by SleepyBob · Leave a Comment
We have looked at some weird and wonderful radio alarm clocks, but what about a normal, bog standard, “tell me the time and wake me up in the morning” radio alarm clock? Well, here’s one for you – the snappily named ICFC218S.
So, what’s it got? Well, it tells you the time on a large LED display, it has a single, easy to set alarm and an FM/AM tuner. For an incredibly cheap alarm clock, a couple of noteworthy features are that it comes with a back up battery included (some of the more expensive ones make you buy a battery separately) and it features auto time setting – so it will adjust the time for you in March and October, meaning you can forget everything you learned about “Spring forward, Fall back” etc.
So, if it is a cheap and simple radio alarm clock you need then take a look at the Sony ICFC218S at Amazon
