The Roberts iDream DAB Clock Radio is a great clock radio that has so many things going on you will probably never get tired of all the things it can do. From normal clock radio functions to remote control, DAB and FM radio, all with an iPod dock this machine is the complete package.
For starters, the clock is housed in a semi-round black and chrome casing with speakers house in the side. While the shape may remind some of those automatic vacuum cleaners, it is nice looking and will blend in with any bedroom décor. The large LCD display is easy to read and has multiple dimmer settings to not disturb your valuable beauty sleep. When it comes to waking up in the morning you have your choice of radio, buzzer or iPod. If you haven’t joined the iPod movement yet, you can still listen to mp3 tunes through the aux input socket, and to avoid fights with the misses there is a headphone socket as well.
The Roberts iDream DAB Clock Radio is incredibly easy to use with its large display and easy to follow menu functions. The time is set automatically, so no worrying about being late for work, and a remote control comes in handy for changing the music when you are across the room. For the price, this is one of the most affordable clock radio and ipod units on the market.

Lumie Bodyclock Sunray review
November 18, 2008 by Our Radio Alarm Clock Correspondent · Leave a Comment
If you’ve had trouble getting to sleep and waking up in the morning then it is time to check out the Lumie Bodyclock Sunray – an all-in-one solution to needing a clock, a lamp and a natural way to fall asleep and wake up in the morning.
When winter comes and we start to get less natural sunlight during the day, we tend to get a bit blue, as well as have trouble sleeping as increasing light is the most natural way to encourage the body to wake up. With this clock you set the 30-minute timer before going to bed and it imitates a sunset, and while the light decreases your body will naturally drift off to a peaceful slumber. 30 minutes before your alarm in the morning it will do the opposite and start increasing the light in the room so you wake up rested and refreshed.
This particular clock has been a great hit with parents everywhere, who use it in their children’s rooms to help their kids get a better sleep. No more groggy mornings when kids are woken up by the light in their room, instead there are alert and ready to go. With a night-light feature as well this clock is perfect for any child’s room.
For the price the Lumie Bodyclock Sunray is one of the most affordable light therapy clocks on the market today, so if you are feeling those winter blues coming on, or just want to sleep better and wake up ready to face the day then you should give it a try.
Ipod Docking Station and Clock Radio review

This is a beast among radio alarm clocks! It’s not just a radio, not even just a clock radio – but an Ipod docking clock radio! That’s right, dock you Ipod and blast out tunes to your hearts content, then fall asleep, and wake up to the tunes of your choice.
This Ipod docking station clock radio has another amazing feature that will have you, er… amazed! – a ‘touchless’ snooze! That’s right, you don’t even need to hit the snooze button, just wave your hand in front of it, and you’ll get those extra vital minutes of sleep.
Sunrise System SRS 100 Dawn Simulator Alarm Clock review
November 3, 2008 by Our Radio Alarm Clock Correspondent · Leave a Comment
This is a great clock for anyone who likes to wake up to full light in the morning, or anyone who suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder. The Sunrise System SRS 100 - Dawn Simulator Alarm Clock has a plug in the back for your lamp and the alarm will start increasing the light on your lamp slowly so your body can wake up more gently. When you do become fully awake you will feel more alert than if you were suddenly woken up by a buzzer or radio. It even has a sunset function that slowly decreases the light in the room, letting you fall asleep more naturally.
In case you are a heavy sleeper the alarm function also comes with sound that slowly increases, so as not to startle you. The clock also comes with snooze and a nightlight function. Probably the most impressive feature of this clock is that it has a security mode for when you are not home that will turn your lamp on and off randomly to deter burglars.
Anyone who finds that they get a bit blue in the winter months should try the Sunrise System SRS 100 - Dawn Simulator Alarm Clock and see if the increase in light helps them to feel better, it should. If you decide that you don’t like your lamp anymore it is no problem, just buy a new one and plug it in. The LCD display is big and easy to read, and the clock itself is stylish and fits in with any décor. You won’t find another sunlight simulator anywhere close to this price, so it is certainly a bargain.

Sony XDRC705DAB Clock Radio review
October 31, 2008 by Our Radio Alarm Clock Correspondent · Leave a Comment
If you are looking for a great clock radio from a good brand then you’ll love the Sony XDRC705DAB Clock Radio. This clock has great sound and is extremely good-looking (in case you worry about that sort of thing). The big and bright display makes it easy to read, and there are settings to reduce the brightness so it doesn’t bother you at night. The ability to set 20 preset stations is quite handy and means that you’ll never have to spend time scrolling through the dial to find your station.
There is one small problem, that doesn’t seem to affect all models but has been reported a few times by different customers. It would appear that on a few models there is a glitch where the clock’s alarm goes off at midnight every few days. Again, it hasn’t affected all of the models, so if you like this clock you should definitely get it. Within a few days you will know if it is functioning correctly, and you can take it back if it’s faulty.
All in all the Sony XDRC705DAB Clock Radio is a great clock, with fabulous sound from the front-mounted speaker. The clock looks great in any bedroom with its sleek and understated styling. The multiple station presets and alarm settings come in very handy, and the big display means that you can read it easily, even in the middle of the night. This is a great clock and well worth the price tag it comes with.

Pure TEMPUS 1XT DAB Radio Alarm Clock review
October 25, 2008 by Our Radio Alarm Clock Correspondent · Leave a Comment
Anyone who likes to keep a touch of the ‘good ‘ol days’ around will love this retro-styled clock that is funky and old-fashioned, yet stocked with all the features of a regular alarm clock. The Pure TEMPUS-1XT DAB Radio with Clock / Alarm definitely does a good job of combining the new with the old with its wood exterior and touch sensitive snooze handle.
The alarm clock features are definitely modern, with 3 presets that you can set for weekdays, weekends or just Saturday or Sunday. The clock comes with a USB adaptor so you can hook it up to your computer and download free product updates when they become available, and you can set the snooze timer for up to 59 minutes if you like to have a nice morning sleep-in. The sleep timer lets you fall asleep listening to your favourite radio station, and this radio is able to pick up analogue and DAB signals so you will never miss out. The extendible antenna means you get even better reception than a standard wire-antenna radio.
While some may think that the price is a bit steep for a clock radio, if your house is full of retro things then the extra money is worth it to have a clock radio that fits in with your décor. You will never find that the Pure TEMPUS-1XT DAB Radio with Clock / Alarm is lacking in features, and others who come to your home are certain to admire it.
Click here to buy the Pure TEMPUS 1XT DAB Radio Alarm Clock from Amazon. The price is £49.99 (great value as the RRP is £115.99) at the time of writing.
